BRIEF BIO:

I was born in Baltimore, MD and grew up in Berks County, PA.

After high school, I matriculated to Gettysburg College, a highly selective four-year liberal arts college seated in the heart of the historic American Civil War battlefields. Life has taken me on a bit of a winding path post-graduation. After obtaining a degree of Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2010, I worked as a nurse's aid for a year, then went on to pursue work as a paraprofessional at an Ivy League research library. During this time, I also took on freelance projects in writing, editing, and web development.

Most recently, I decided to go back to school for a second bachelor's degree in nursing. I completed studies with the Drexel University Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) Nursing Program and graduated in September 2014 with a BSN. I passed my board examination shortly thereafter and hold full licensure as a Registered Nurse in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In January 2015 I secured full-time employment as an RN. Since that time, I have worked in the Department of Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Progressive Care Unit at Nazareth Hospital. Presently, I am employed as a staff RN in the Medical and Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Units of Lankenau Medical Center.

As I develop my technical and clinical expertise, I am also interested in rolls that allow me to utilize my background in liberal arts and library sciences. I am drawn to opportunities in the areas of care coordination, healthcare informatics, data management/analytics, and web content development for healthcare and medical systems. I welcome the chance to learn about new career openings and to learn new skill sets.

To summarize, in addition to clinical nursing, my career skills and interests include:

  • Healthcare Informatics
  • Web content development
  • Data management/analytics
  • Care coordination

In my free time, I enjoy volunteering in different capacities and taking classes in improv comedy.

My family is very important to me. I am blessed with three sisters and loving parents.
